Estate 248 heartfelt wedding & an epic party

Estate 248 in Langley is one of those few Metro Vancouver wedding venues that can pretty much do it all. They have a large grassy area for cocktail hour, mingling and lawn games. They also had beautiful vintage furniture all around the grounds for guests to lounge. Very cosy! If you wish, you can do the ceremony on the lawn or inside the barn. Although it was very hot, it was such an adorable space. They had cute benches for the guests to sit on and it was beautifully decorated including a hexagon arch.

Dennis (that’s me) was the officiant. I worked with S&D since the beginning so it was really easy to also plan the photography, DJ, and MC part as all the members of my team were there to execute it together. They wanted a very simple ceremony but it had to have two important components: 1) Meaningful, and 2) Funny! OK, now your talking my language. I was totally game. We had a blast planning this one especially since they were equally game and we had some fun with the groom. He loved every minute of it. He didn’t see the bride until she walked down the aisle so it was very emotional from the get go. We then directed the attention to the guests and gave them a warm heartfelt welcome which warmed the hearts of the Latino family and friends. We then shared their love story and highlighted what they truly loved about each other. Having their teen children in the wedding party added to the emotion and some laughs with the grooms son handing over the rings. Once they said their “I Do’s” and had their first kiss, it was time for some fun. They ran off for a quick photo shoot and joined the cocktail hour in progress. Lawn games, photo booth and more kept the guests occupied until they arrived…not to mention the cocktails and canapés.

The real fun came once the reception started. Our DJ was also their MC and got the guests laughing early. After a few short speeches and cake cutting, it was time to DANCE! Did I mention a Latino crowd? Boy do they know how to party. Our DJ kept rolling the tunes and they kept on dancing right until the wee hours of the night, just the way we like it. Great way to end a wonderful wedding, with an epic party.
